Last week we looked at the Bookscan numbers for Broken Piano for President, a micropress book that got a ton of free publicity after booze company Jack Daniels sent the author the nicest cease and desist letter in recent memory. Publishers Cameron Pierce and Carlton Mellick pointed out that the 420-copy bounce was just the tip of the iceberg, and indeed, checking back today with the updated Bookscan numbers, Broken Piano sold an additional 1,801 copies last week on Bookscan!
Meanwhile, however, Fifty Shades of Grey sold 197,704 copies last week as recorded by Bookscan. Danielle Steele's Happy Birthday, the first non-Fifty title on the overall list sold 29,295 copies.
